Patry Francis' new book The Liar's Diary
Patry Francis' debut book The Liar's Diary comes out in paperback today. Due to serious illness, Patry can't be out there doing promotional work, so the mystery community is doing it for her. I don't know Patry, but I do know some of the folks she's worked with in the Killer Year group. So I wanted to do my small part in helping out.
You can learn more about Patry's experiences at her site and from her blog

The Chopin Manuscript
The Chopin Manuscript is the project that I mentioned in my last post. It's now available for pre-order from Audible.
Alfred Molina is the narrator. The authors are Jeffrey Deaver, Lisa Scottoline, Lee Child, Joseph Finder, David Hewson, Peter Spiegelman, SJ Rozan, Erica Spindler, John Ramsey Miller, James Grady, PJ Parish, Jim Fusilli (also served as project editor), David Corbett, John Gilstrap, and Ralph Pezzullo.
Here's what Audible has as it's description:
Former war crimes investigator Harold Middleton possesses a previously unknown score by Frederic Chopin. But he is unaware that, locked within its handwritten notes, lies a secret that now threatens the lives of thousands of Americans. As he races from Poland to America to uncover the mystery of the manuscript, Middleton will be accused of murder, pursued by federal agents, and targeted by assassins. But the greatest threat will come from a shadowy figure out of his past: the man known only as Faust.
A dream team of top-selling authors comes together for the first time to craft the ultimate international thriller - delivered to you in exciting serial fashion, with weekly cliff-hanger installments beginning September 25.

Book meme
Okay, I won't be taking any pictures today so I figured I'd fill in the meme that is making the rounds. It seemed appropriate to take this on from Laura Lippman after Old Hag said he wouldn't pass it on to her because of how good she looked in the picture I took at the Edgars. (She did look fantastic)
You're stuck inside Fahrenheit 451. Which book do you want to be?
The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde. He mentions so many other books that it would almost be like being them all.
Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?
Far too many to mention ;-)
The last book you bought was...?
The last book I actually paid for myself was The Magdalen Martyrs by Ken Bruen.
But I won Victor Gishler's Suicide Squeeze from Sarah Weinman's website. Got that one signed when he was in town in early April.
The last book you read was...?
Money to Burn by Katy Munger
What are you currently reading?
I've got a couple of them going at the moment:
The Serpent on the Crown by Elizabeth Peters
Murder on Gramercy Park by Victoria Thompson
Five books you would take to a desert island...
Complete works of Shakespeare
Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything
Isaac Asimov's Foundation Trilogy
Complete Harry Potter series - assuming someone actually published it and you could lift a book that big
and of course a book about surviving on desert islands.
Okay, enough of this writing stuff. I need to get back to picture taking.
-------------
P.S. Just thought of another book to bring along - To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis. Guess I won't be taking that book on surviving on desert islands after all.
