One of my favorite panels at Bouchercon
The Hardboiled Writers Plot a Cozy / Cozy Writers Plot a Hardboiled

Duane Swierczynski, Megan Abbott, Jason Starr, Leslie Caine, Dorothy Cannell, and Parnell Hall

Reed Farrel Coleman and Peter Spiegelman enjoying the panel from the back of the room

Leslie Caine, Dorothy Cannell, and Parnell Hall represented the cozy side. They didn't seem to have too many difficulties getting hardboiled.

Megan Abbott was on the hardboiled side.

Duane Swierczynski moderated the panel and participated as a member of the hardboiled side

The hardboiled team had a secret guest member. Jason somehow convinced Allison Janssen (Bleak House Books) to bring in her cat. I guess he figured they needed all the help they could get.

I don't think the cat likes Jason ;-)

Once it realized that it didn't have to stay with Jason, the cat found the whole thing most interesting...for about two minutes and then took off to explore the room.
